Maurice Sanderson, a long time member of Durham Photographic
Society and well known within the NCPF as a prolific contributor to
competitions and a club lecturer has died at the age of 89. He had been
in failing health for a number of years.
Maurice was well known for his imaginative images
and was a prolific winner of competitions aimed at innovative
photography both within his own club and at NCPF level. In the 1980s and
1990s his talent enabled him to create images that to most of us seemed
almost impossible until the advent of digital photography.
A widower, he was a past president and for many
years treasurer of Durham Photographic Society. He was a hard working
member of the society’s committee and a valued friend to many.
His funeral is 10.30am next Friday (June 12) at Durham Crematorium.
