A New Lightroom Book

This is a BIG e-book with over 300 pages which you can download as a pdf file.  The table of contacts looks impressive (see below).  The list price is $20 but if any club member contacts me in the next 2 days I can send them a code for a discount to buy the book at $15 (just under £10).

LIGHTROOM 4 UNMASKED
This is a complete guide to Adobe Lightroom 4 and we know you'll love diving into this beefy book. At 312 spreads this PDF is full of high-resolution screenshots, step-by-step instructions, and the tips, tricks and ideas that make digital darkroom work productive and more enjoyable. If you’re looking to learn Lightroom 4 and need a resource to help you do that quickly, or you’ve just upgraded and need to get up to speed, this is a great value.

INTRODUCING THE BIGBOOK
A BIGBOOK is like an eBook but bigger. A lot bigger! It's a PDF that, other than the fact that it's fully searchable and loaded with hyperlinks, is really the text book you've always wanted, like those big, heavy ones you'd normally pay the big bucks for! We put our elves to work and we've produced a digital text book. Instead of carving up the content into smaller chunks we've created something BIG so that you can have a definitive resource at your finger tips while saving money at the same time.

PAGB E-News 70

Please click on this link to see Issue 70 of e-news from the PAGB which is an obituary special for John Wells - a very busy and popular lecturer whose company a great many amateur photographers have enjoyed.

It is unusual to run such a special but Rod Wheelans received so many comments from John's friends that he thought it appropriate in this case.

We had booked John to lecture at SPS during the 2012-2013 season and I am very saddened that his life was cut short and members did not have the chance to experience the magic of seeing John in action.

Saltwick Bay outing

We haven't been very successful with the summer outings so far this year - but the next one is planned for next Monday, 2nd July, to Saltwick Bay. We will car share from Stokesley, for those interested, leaving at 7.30 - or otherwise park and meet up at the Whitby Holiday Park caravan site around 8.20pm.

Email simon(AT)sandlallen.co.uk if you are interested in the car share. See the website for a few more details and link to a useful guide to photography at the Bay.

Since we will stay until after sunset, bring a torch - and wellies or something similar as there may be some paddling!

Monochrome North - a photography exhibition by Neil Bage

Neil was born in County Durham, spending most of his childhood
and youth outdoors, where he developed an interest in drawing.
Photography was a natural progression, and Neil quickly established a
preference for black and white landscapes and seascapes, taking
inspiration from the beautiful scenery of the local area.
