8mm projector needed

Club member Ken Broomfield is looking for the loan of a projector to show some old films of one of his neighbours which were taken when she was a child and she has never seen them.
What he requires is an 8mm cine projector not Super 8mm) unless it does normal 8mm as well.
Does anybody posess one which they are prepared to loan for a week ,or just want to get rid of?

If you can help please contact Paula Davies (paulaATpixelfoto.co.uk).

Photography Course at Saltburn

Profile Gallery in Saltburn is running a ten-week photography course starting on 6th October 2011.

The course will on on alternate Thursday evenings (7pm-8.30pm) and Saturday mornings (10.30am-midday). This arrangement is designed to provide opportunities for practical shooting sessions in the field followed by sessions back at base where participants can share and discuss their work with others.

The course will also provide input into basic photography theory (such as apertures, shutter speed etc) for those who require it. As such the course is suitable for both beginners and those who wish to develop their practice further by shooting in a supportive group situation.

You will be required to bring your own digital camera (any type from compact to full DDSLR is appropriate, or even a smartphone). You might also like to bring your own laptop if you have one but this is not essential.

The cost for the course will be in the region of £75-80 pounds.

If you would like to reserve a place or require further details, email nelhicksonATprofilegallery.co.uk as soon as possible.

Red Arrows

In view of the sad news tonight of the crash of one of the Red Arrow planes in Dorset I am posting up a few images of their display this Monday at Whitby Regatta. It was absolutely excellent. Stunning flying skills.

Don't miss the FREE DRAW for Permajet Paper.  This issue it is for
a PACK OF A3+ 50 SHEETS OF ULTRA PEARL
"The finish and physical properties of this paper raise it above the 'yet another photo paper' category. The Lustre/Pearl surface looks good, takes pigment inks very well and has a tougher finish. It's also a paper that resists creasing, making it ideal when I know that prints are going to be handled. The surface finish is also somewhat resistant to casual scanning and copying - something that I know causes concern for some wedding and portrait photographers."
